Mapping Prevention Deserts and Advancing Early Intervention to Curb Chronic Disease in America.

A data-informed public health effort focused on saving lives, reducing costs, and promoting health equity.

About the Initiative

This initiative aims to identify 'prevention deserts', communities at highest risk for chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and obesity, and implement targeted early-intervention programs that expand access to preventive care.

Chronic diseases account for over 90% of U.S. healthcare spending and cause millions of preventable deaths each year. Our goal is to reverse this trend through community-based prevention and policy coordination.
